Buena Vista, CO, Nov. 30, 2012 – Snowy Peaks RV Park was one of 42 campgrounds, RV parks and resorts across the country to earn an all around “A” grade in the fourth annual GuestRated™ satisfaction survey of independent parks.   This 80 site park received an “A” grade in overall guest satisfaction for the year 2012.  The top-rated parks were announced at the a Nov. 30th awards ceremony hosted by the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds.  More than 30,000 camping and RV enthusiasts completed reviews in the GuestRated.com online survey, grading their experiences at 3,200 independent RV parks and campgrounds.  “Consistently earning an overall ‘A’ grade from guests is difficult, and our 42 winners this year represent less than 2% of all of the nation’s campgrounds.” said Bob MacKinnon, President and CEO of GuestRated.com, the Murrieta, Calif.-based company that conducted the online survey on behalf of the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds.  11/12

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend in Buena Vista the end of September. Snowy Peaks Park help to make our stay just perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the park was quiet and clean. We had great hikes to the Alpine Tunnel and Harvard Lakes, and a nice stroll along the river. We will be back! Candace 10/12

We liked everything at the park from the friendly receptionist and handymen who helped get our camper parked to excellent way the campground was maintained and managed. The club house has a well layed out floor plan with an adequate kitchen, seating area and room for a pool table. We were there the last week of Sept, 2012. The weather was near perfect. Our RV Club had a good experience at Snowy Peaks.  Terry, KS, 10/12

Snowy Peaks is hands down, the best place to stay while in the Buena Vista area. Clean, pristine facility with wonderful views and friendly staff! Way too many things to see and do to list them all. Close to Breckenridge, Aspen, and more mountains that are elevation 14,000 plus than the mind can imagine. The views wherever you are are magnificent. Didn't even complain about having to wait in the car for my husband to peruse the hardware store cause the view of the mountains. was so up close and beautiful! Must does for the area...High Country Jeep Tours (felt safe, informed and entertained!!! Very nice people, not like some tours that are just rattling off info. These people have a good time being with their customers!) Must sees...Leadville, Aspen, Breckenridge, Salida, Fairplay, just to name a few. Must eats, Jan's, K's Dairy Dip, Evergreen Cafe, Branding Iron and Quincy's (though their menu is very limited, it was good)! Mainly, just enjoy the area and for sure, don't miss the High Country Jeep Tours! We have already made our reservations for next year! 10/12

We have been going to Snowy Peaks every summer for the past 10 years and we are looking forward to another 10 years. This is a friendly, active RV Park. There is something going on at least four days a week. Fireside music, ATV trips, Ladies lunches, potluck dinners, firetruck rides. You can do as many things as you like or none at all and have a wonderful time. The Hosts are a very friendly couple who do their best to make your stay enjoyable. Eleanor 10/12

This is one of the cleanest parks we have stayed in. Things were convenient and clean. Enjoyed watching the deer walk around the park unperturbed. We have a dog and were glad to observe cleaning up after him to help keep park clean for others. Richard 10/12

While camping at Snowy Peaks RV Park in Buena Vista, CO, we enjoyed soaking in the hot springs at Mt. Princeton Spa and Hot Springs, which is about 15 miles from Buena Vista. Buena Vista is a small, friendly town with deer roaming the streets and yards. The Apple Festival at Turner Farms in Buena Vists, the first weekend in September is special with apple picking, apple pies, apple cider, music and vendors selling various apple goodies. All Buena Vista activities are clearly pointed out by the helpful office staff of Snowy Peaks RV Park. The fall colors in and around Buena Vists are gorgeous in late September. - 9/12

Drive around town looking for deer in the evening,oh and if you are lucky a bear. Tour around in a jeep or take a 4 wheeler trip to view the nearby mountain ranges. Theme potluck dinners are a way to have a good meal and meet fellow campers.  Rhonda & Brad, SD, 9/12

We discovered Snowy Peaks after staying in the BV KOA- Our experience there was poor for the premium price they charged.
Now that we've seen the nice people, views, green grass and trees plus the much lower price (with free cable TV and WiFi) we will never go anywhere else! The staff and park get a "10" from me............. - 9/12

Very Friendly Staff and Owner. I experienced problems with my RV and EVERYONE tried to help. In the end, The Owner had the right idea. The Valve was labeled wrong. Once we realized that, I was elated and the owner said he was going to tell his wife that he was right about something. Great People...... Great Stay - Jim, TX, 9/12

We came to the RV park to be able to look around the area and see the fall colors. One of the other campers noted to us to go to Cotton Wood Lake. Just a short trip west of Buena Vista... What a great trip and well worth the time it took to see some terrific fall colors that were just perfect. Talking to the staff in the office was like talking to our neighbors right at home. So helpful and they made sure we were happy with the visit. For sure we will return next year. - Scott, CO, 9/12

I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a clean and relaxed place to stay. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It is also located close to town if you need to pick up or shop for anything. 9/12

Excellent service and great facilities. Sue went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed - she even made the Trophy Room available for our group dinner and slide show. Thank you very much and we'll see you again next Sep for the Color Tour, if not sooner. - Larry, CO, 9/12

You can go "home again". This was our 3rd year to return for the whole summer, so obviously, we love it. The staff and owners are like friends and family. The park is managed so well and clean. The Arkansas Valley area abounds with outdoor activities as plentiful as the beauty of the mountains. We have made many happy memories and met many wonderful friends at Snowy Peaks. - 9/12

Snowy Peaks is the best campground we have ever stayed in! The campsites and restrooms are immaculate, there is green grass and trees at every site, the picnic tables are clean and the hookups work well. We were escorted to our site, they assisted backing us in and showed us the hookups. Excellent service in every way! 9/12

One of the cleanest, nicest parks we have ever been in. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Will definitely be back. - 9/12

We enjoyed the setting among the l4ner, the warmth and help of the staff (everyone was terrific), the casual and friendly ambiance, access to kitchen facilities, sufficient shade on hot days, proximity to the Cottenwood Pass area for hiking and exploration. We had a great time, and health and time permitting, will definitely consider going (coming) back. Buena Vista and Salida have become practically second homes to us. 8/12

We have stayed at this campgrounds four times now and are planning to go back again next summer. Everyone there is real friendly, both the campers and the staff. We've always felt welcome. We've made a lot of friends and a lot of memories. Our favorite thing to do is to ride the four-wheeling trails. The campgrounds even organize trails rides. It's great!!!! - Penny, KS, 8/12

Enjoyed visiting with Gene and his family, The Friday night campfire with music and visiting, ATV trip that was scheduled with other campground visitors. Just an all around enjoyable place to stay and get to know other people. - John, KS, 8/12

We always have a wonderful experience at Snowy Peaks. The staff is wonderful and friendly. The campsite are very clean and welcoming. - Dan, CO, 8/12

We ask for a shady spot for our week stay because we had pets with us that would be left in the camper most of the day. and we prefered not to leave the air on and got just what we needes very happy and we booked for next year to be there the same time august 2013 for a week.very very happy - Nancy, CO, 8/12

My wife and I came up to Buena Vista for a week to escape the heat down in Denver, experience the mountains again, sight-see, and do a little fishing. We picked Snowy Peaks based on our internet search and we were glad we did! Great people who keep a neat and clean campground with lots of things to do for both grown-ups and kids. The firetruck rides really went over great with kids of all ages! The campsites were really nice, with trees, grass, and hookups; and even though it looked like the camp was full, it was quiet in the evenings and you weren't tripping over everyone. Part of that is the way the campground is laid out and the parking scheme they use. Great cable TV connections and the best wi-fi of all the campgrounds we've visited so far (over a dozen in Co, NM, and UT). They have handouts of all the things to do that are available using Snowy Peaks as your home base - pretty much anything that someone might be interested in doing up in the mountains. Hiking, fishing, exploring ghost towns and mountain passes, and sight-seeing in some of the historical towns in the area were the ways we spent our week at Snowy Peaks. Things un-done for next time: river rafting, zip-lining, and ATV'ing... One must-see if interested in history and enjoy visiting museums is the Salida Museum - easily one of the best small museums we've seen! Bottom line: this was one of the best campgrounds we've experienced in our three years of RV'ing! - Gary, CO, 8/12

We were traveling through Colorado on our Harley &did not make it as far as we'd planned. Stopped here on a chance they had an opening and we warmly welcomed. Set up our tent. showered and enjoyed the view. The manager walked over and made sure we were fine and told us about the Clubhouse where you can watch TV,play games or just relax. We felt safe, relaxed and several people walked by and said hello. So glad we stopped here! - 8/12

We really enjoyed our stay. Site and facilities were nice and everyone was friendly and helpful. Cable and wifi worked well and were a very desirable plus. Loved the scenic location and many things to do. Would recommend to fellow travelers. - 8/12

Just Love it here! I can take a short ride to the Riverside Park Area and walk along the easy trails by the Arkansas River with my dog or hike up to the top for a glorious view of the valley. Mountain biking nearby and many areas to see. The Park is well groomed and sites have trees for shade, nice laundry room & Clubhouse, friendly and pleasant - Ann/FL/8/12

Wow! The friendliest staff ever. Clean, fun and lots of activities. Plan on returning again and again - Kris, CO, 8/12

We have been coming to Buena Vista for about 5 years, most of which we've stayed at Snowy Peaks. We like this park for a lot of reasons, but mostly because everyone is so friendly. It is always our first choice to stay. We highly recommend the park. - Bubba, NM, 7/12

We enjoyed using Snowy Peaks RV park as a base of operations for our 5th wheel rig for a week, allowing us to wander all over middle Colorado. Everything worked as it should and it was a nice experience. We will definitely return. The staff was friendly as were our neighbors. William, NM, 7/12

We have stayed at Snowy Peaks many times and will return there. We've stayed at other parks in the area and always return to Snowy Peaks. The park has friendly employees and their lots are spacious and shaded mostly. Plenty of activities and they are pet friendly. We will go back. - Charles, CO, 7/12

Snowy Peaks is the kind of place you go to when you want a clean, friendly, quiet place to camp.
We have been coming to Snowy Peaks for five years. no matter where our travels take us they always start or end with a minimun of two weeks at Snowy Peaks. 7/12

Lots of great activities available at the campground from card groups, cookouts, ice cream socials, etc. Everyone working there is very friendly and the campground is kept very neat and clean.Highly recommended! - Bill, CO, 7/12

We stayed one night at Snowy Peaks on a road trip in a small motor home. Staff was very friendly and helpful, sllowing us to choose which of the few spots available we would prefer and then helped get us situated in the spot. Facilities were very well maintained, with adequate space between sites. The especially nice surprise was individual private bathrooms with showers which were spotless. After experiencing the typical youth camp type bathroom facilities which were not very clean in so many other parks, this was really appreciated. Good location with beautiful view of the mountains. We would definitely recommend this park and would stay there again. - 7/12

My husband and I spent a week at Snowy Peaks R.V.Park and loved every minute. The facilities are first rate, clean beyond my germaphobe expectations, and provide many things to do--breakfast on Sunday mornings, vintage firetruck rides Saturday evenings, bingo, live music, pot luck diners, and carts/playground for children. We found the hosts and workkampers to be very friendly as well as the other people visiting/living in S.P. The views of the mountains from Snowy Peaks is absolutely stunning. I also felt very secure at Snowy Peaks. I was able to walk my dog after dark and I can't do that at home. The Arkansas River and abundant lakes allow the most avid fisherman lots of opportunities "to wet a hook". Day trips to St. Elmo (a old ghost mining town),Gunnison, Leadville, and Salida were enjoyable. Buena Vista is a nicle little village that offers lots of different restaurants. I would definitely return to Snowy Peak R.V.Park and recommend it highly to all ages. - Bobbie, TX, 7/12

We had stayed at another RV park in the area last year with very poor wifi.. The conection here was 100%,..Clean,, and quiet.. Full support from the staff,, and truly felt they wanted the best for us every minute we were parked. Meet alot of fellow campers and most were 10 to 20 year repeat life time campers at this park and looked at the RV park as being part of the family.. Everyone was helpful and happy to be able to do what they could to make the best time for all.. Will come back again, - Danie, KS, 6/12

Easy checkin, assisted parking of travel trailer, and friendly personel. Camp has a variety of parking spaces and lots of trees to keep the trailer cool during the record breaking heat wave. Great view of the Collegiate Peaks and less than a mile to the downtown stop light (only one in Buena Vista). Some evening activities and kid rides on an old fire truck. Very nice campground and lots of activities in the area including fishing, 4 wheeling, gold panning on the Arkansas river, rafting, and general sightseeing. - John, CO, 6/12

Spent most of our time at Twin Lakes fishing but found a bunch of other things to do too including a day trip to Leadville and a drive up to Monark pass! Enjoyed the central location and the short drives to attractions. We WILL be back and as I write this we are thinking about a mid-September trip to see the fall colors. Snowy Peaks gets a 2 thumbs up from us and we'll be calling them first..... - Greg, Tx, 6/12

This is the only place I stay while visiting Buena Vista. The staff is nice and accommodating. The park is well maintained. Cable TV with HBO, and the free wifi are pluses for me after a day of being at the hot springs. I highly recommend this park. - 6/12

Even though we were only passing through the Buena Vista area and our stay at Snowy Peaks was only for 1 day we fell in love with both the RV Park and the town. You can bet our next visit will be for an extended stay. Our rating of the RV Park is FIVE STARS both facilities and staff. A special thank you to Andy. - Barry, NC, 6/12

Our family enjoyed the weekend at the Snowy Peaks Campground. It is a level, clean and friendly camping experience. Beautiful trees shade each site. The staff assist in parking each RV to allow for slide outs and awnings which gives each camper plenty of room. You are just a few minutes to the Arkansas River and rafting. You are only minutes and up to 2 hours away from most the of great adventures in Colorado. We will definitely visit again. - Charlene, 6/12

We have been visiting Snowy Peaks for many years. This past year we left our Motor Home, now a Travel trailer, there all winter. The campground is lovely with clean sites, wonderful facilities, friendly and knowledgeable owners, and is open year round. We have been building a house in the area, so our stay was focused on that project this year. But, in the past we have enjoyed the many outdoor activities available in that area. It is a beautiful location and should not be missed by serious campers. - 6/12

The staff was great from the time we arrived, until we checked out. The property was clean and well kept. Will return in the future.
Thanks - Steve, CO, 5/12

Very nice campground with excellent facilities. There is so much to do in and around Buena Vista - hot springs, fishing, hiking, touring, and more! I have stayed at Snowy Peaks several times and plan to go back. - 5/12

Helpful staff, clean bathrooms, solid wireless access, everything as advertised. Great location for rafting, hiking 14ers, hot springs, etc - 5/12

We were in Buena Vista for the BV Bike Fest for the second time and our second time to stay in this park. The Staff was very friendly and courteous. We were here for six nights and park put on a pancake breakfast on Sunday morning. This is a good location for exploring the valley as you can get to many attractions from here. Leadville, Aspen, Salida and Canyon City (Royal Gorge) are some that are within a day’s drive to explore. There is very good road and mountain biking in the area. There are numerous raft companies if you want to have a go at rafting. I have had experience with Noah's Ark and they have been great. There are many 14er's in the area if you want to tackle some high altitude hikes. A stay at Snowy Peaks will provide a good base for the many activities available in the area. - Richard, CO, 5/12

We have stayed here many times, most recently from September 2011 until May 2012 off and on. We are now storing our travel trailer there. It is a lovely campground with beautiful scenery all around and owners and work campers who really go the extra mile to be helpful - Peter, KS, 5/12

Visited Snowy Peaks RV Park & Rentals for a week starting Memorial Day weekend. This is a pet friendly campground and this campground is truly an A+ campground. It definitely shows pride of ownership & campground hosts who truly care about the campground and the campers who stay there. We had a great time & did daytrips to see the area, which is truly beautiful. Awesome views each morning & evening. Campsites are spacious, level, shady and with lots of grass. Nightimes were cool which made for great sleeping. Campground hosts were very helpful and friendly. They answered any and all questions that we had. WiFi connection was excellent and easy to connect to. We will definitely come back to this campground to camp. It is one of the best in the area. Teresa 9/11

Pull thru site was nicest we have ever seen; very large and nice green grass; we love to sit outside when we camp and this was by far the nicest campsite we have ever been in. Lots of fun activities and we especially enjoyed the guitars and singing at the big fire pit. Peaceful, serene, yet very close to the town of Buena Vista and also other local activities. Cable TV was GREAT with so many channels (because we like to relax in front of the tube at night). Staff was so nice; felt like camping with family. We will go back again and again!!! We love this area and have camped near Buena Vista for years and can't believe we never camped here before. This has become our favorite campground for all future camping trips to this area. Denise, CO 8/11

If you are coming to Colorado make sure you plan ahead and stay at Snowy Peaks. Memorial day through Labor day they are usually full. However do not be afraid to call at the last minute you might catch a cancellation. Joe, CO 8/11

After touring the area for 10 days, and seeing several campgrounds in the surrounding area, I can honestly say that Snowy Peaks is BY FAR the best one around. We will definitely be returning! Amy, MO 6/11

We arrived at Snowy Peaks on a Saturday afternoon, got checked in for a one week stay. It is a really nice and well kept campground. Family and pet friendly. Sites are spacious and most have grass and shade trees. Clean bathrooms and showers. Campground hosts were very nice and helpful. Campground is just outside of town and very easy to find and get to. Lots of different things in the area to see and places to visit. Centrally located to many of the 14ers in CO. Wi-fi connectivity that worked all the time not sporadically like some campsites. No time limit either. My husband and I really liked this campground and would definitely come back again.  Tersa, CO, 6/11

Wife and I stayed during the Memorial Day Weekend. The park is in excellent condition due to diligent staff who care for it. They are also very friendly and made us feel right at home. Buena Vista, itself, is a wonderful little town with good restaurants, a good walking tour of downtown, and a river with nice trails along side it. Outdoor activities abound in the whole area. And after a busy day we enjoyed the hot springs at Cottonwood Resort, a few miles west of town. - Joel, CO, 6/11

Once again, Snowy Peaks RV was a very pleasing experience. The facilities are always kept neat and clean. The grounds are kept very well groomed and the staff is always friendly and helpful. The views are breathtaking. Also, if you would like to experience atv'ing, this is a great place to stay before heading into the hills to ride. I have stayed here many times and plan on coming back this July again. I thouroughly enjoy staying here.  - Steve, CO, 6/11

The staff was unbelievably friendly and helpful. Restrooms and shower facilities are spotless. Sites were well maintained and level. You are lucky that you have such an outstanding view. Can't wait to come back. Doreen, MO 6/11

This campground is well cared for, with very friendly hosts. Their interests in our comfort and enjoyment went as far as entertaining our 12 year old in a game of teatherball as my husband and I set up camp.  Kathy, CO, 5/11

My wife and I were considering a regular camping spot to spend a week and see the Arkansas river, Leadville celebration, and jeep the 14 teeners. Our expectations were exceeded when the max camping spot was open for the week we were going to be there. The cable TV, outside table/Chairs, shade tree, grill, and groomed grass added to our comfort from day to day. The live nightly entertainment, potluck dinners, and horse-shoe pit was relaxing and an added bonus. The staff were friendly and accomodating. I'm not saying the campground was elaborate and upper class, but the down home attention to detail was very commendable. The location was central and close to town for the basic convienences. Though we did not come with a big RV with all the fancies, the RV experience was very personal and a great experience. Thank you for being you! - Jim and Andi, 5/11

Snowy Peaks is a fantastic RV Resort. In fact, we are leaving to spend the Memorial Day weekend there in just a few hours. It is run by fantastic people. Great sites, very clean with super amenities. Convenient to many activities such as river rafting, jeep trails, ATV trails and much, much more. The beauty of the Collegiate Peaks area is breath taking. I would highly recomend this resort for anyone who wants to have a great time. - Frank, CO, 5/11

Extremely, wonderful priced value for the service and site.  Will visit campground next time in the Buena Vista area.  Susan, 10/10

The shower facilities were very very clean and spacious. I couldn't believe how quiet the park was -- we did alot of sight-seeing during the day, arriving back to the park after-hours and it was so so quiet, we at times felt like we were too loud!

Harry was the one of the guest hosts. He was very nice and professional. Leisl worked at the reception desk and store. She was very nice to our daughter and they became great friends. Our daughter loved the rental carts and everyone who she dealt with in the office was very nice to her.  Everything about our stay here was super! Our site, as with the other sites, was exceptional - clean, ease of entry/exit, green grass, trees and shade. We had one of the better sites with a deck, nice lawn furniture, and a grill. All of the people here were wonderful! We extended our stay here because our whole family had such a great time! We'll be back!  Tim, Aurora, CO 9/10

One of the cleanest we have encountered. Gerald, Ft. Walton Beach, FL, 9/10

One of the nicest campgrounds we have stayed in. Everything sparkling clean and convenient.  9/10

Buena Vista, CO, Nov. 16, 2009 – Snowy Peaks RV Park was one of only 31 campgrounds and RV resorts across the country to earn an all around “A” grade in the nation’s first consumer satisfaction survey of independent parks.  The 85-site park, located in Buena Vista, CO, received an “A” grade in overall guest satisfaction for the year 2009.  The top parks were announced in Orlando, Fla. on November 12, 2009 during an awards ceremony hosted by the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds. Nearly 17,000 camping and RV enthusiasts participated in the 2009 online survey, which evaluated guest experiences at 1,840 independent campgrounds and RV resorts affiliated with the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds.

Loved the private bathrooms! And the grassy area in each site is very nice -- plush, well-manicured, and very inviting. It's not typical to find such rich grass (or any grass!) at an RV park.  Steve, Englewood, CO 9/09

We both enjoyed your RV Park immersely! Clean, wide large turning axis into sites, dog friendly and to find pet sitting available was a huge plus!  We had planned on staying 2 nights and now 4 nights have passed!  Friendly helpful owners, & staff was another huge plus! Coming up from FL we were afraid to make reservations ahead of time until we looked  at the park. The smile this park brought to both our faces when we pulled in and then found the ease in backing into our site made our day!! Leaving tomorrow we hope our next RV park has followed your example in what truly makes a park enjoyable!  Thank You and if we are ever back in CO we will be staying with you again! Susan and Wayne, FL 9/09

All the personnel were very helpful and friendly. It was more like a "family" gathering than a business setting.  Ronnie, Crowley, TX, 7/09

Staying at Snowy Peaks was the best stop on our trip! We had a wonderful time and stayed an extra night. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our grandson, who spent a day helping (?) the owner and riding with him on his golf cart begged us to stay longer! We will definitely return to Snowy Peaks whenever we are near Buena Vista. Thank you. Bill & Marti, Lake Arrowhead, CO 6/09

We found Snowy Peaks via the internet and had no prior 'sites' of the park. Upon our arrival/check-in, we were presented with a whole packet of information about the park activities and escorted to our sites. The sites had a lush strip of grass and a marvelous view of 'snowy mtn peaks', which were a pleasure to wake up to each morning.

We have been coming to Snowy Peaks for many years.  We cannot say enough about the park or its management. It is always clean and well kept. Bathrooms are always immaculate. The staff is the friendliest, and most knowledgeable, about things and place within a 100 miles of Bueana Vista.

"One of the friendliest and accommodating parks I have visited in the last several years. Thanks for a great visit! "

"We were glad to find friendly people, caring about our enjoyment while we were staying even through it was only 2 nights. We will definitely return to this park when we are in the Buena Vista area. We didn't feel that we were crammed together like so many campground are for travel trailers." Beverly, Salem, MO

"We were especially pleased to find that they are pet-friendly, i.e. they allowed us to put up our dog cage on our site. This park is definitely a "keeper"!" Larry, Westcliffe, CO

"I would definitely stay there again. I think that it's the nicest park in the Buena Vista area." Wayne, Altoona, IA

"This was one of our favourite stops on a very long journey right across the USA. We were particularly impressed with the friendliness of all the staff and the other campers who went out of their way to talk to us, and recommended an acoustic guitar night at the local community centre which we thoroughly enjoyed." Jenny, UK

"What a rare find! A park with grass, trees and pleasant people all the way from the office to the maintenance people. Wish we had picked this one first instead of spending two nights at a very unsatisfactory park. Thanks for caring about us and our pets."  Barb & John, Longmont, CO
